NAWCC Members may check out items from our Library. Museum visitors, NAWCC members, and scholars are welcome to visit the library and take advantage of the library’s resources or just check out the kid’s corner and the clocks and other items that are on display. ![]() NAWCC members are welcome, either in person or via our mail service, to check out the books and videos that make up the circulating collection. ![]() The archives contain company information from several American watch and clock companies, collections of advertisements and postcards featuring timepieces, and the papers of prominent horologists. With more than 30,000 books, catalogs, and periodicals, the Library and Research Center’s resources are used to document timepieces around the world. From 1908 onwards, the Alpina mark was used on the premium watches of this association. I found, see 0, that the Union Horlogere designation was used for watches from 1901. The library specializes in reference services. The watch bears the Union Horlogere brand, a watchmakers' cooperative originally from Switzerland, with Alpina as a major member. ![]() The library’s holdings include books that are over 450 years old and contemporary materials are constantly being added. The subjects covered range from the repair of clocks and watches to the philosophy of time and a small collection of fiction books whose stories revolve around clocks, watches, or horology. The library’s collection covers all aspects of horology and includes books and periodicals in numerous languages, including, among others, French, German, Japanese, Dutch, Latin, Swedish, Finnish, and Italian. The Fortunat Mueller-Maerki Library & Research Center is located at the National Watch and Clock Museum.
